“I’m extremely angry at Medicine Shoppe. It’s just unfair to let someone come in off street for $499 a month. I’ve seen what they’ve done to people and they are ruining people’s lives. I’d rather pay $1,000 to a lawyer than to Cardinal. This is our last chance. If you don’t get in now, just forget.” Mike Kemner “MSI and Medicap have completely devalued my franchise. No one is going to touch my store as it is now at over $10,000 a month, plus another 1 percent in marketing. It has become a complete liability. If someone could open a store across street at $499, why would you pay royalities? Those people who are joining have right to walk away after 90 days. We are bound for the duration of our original contact. Four hundred and ninety-nine dollars is not a franchise, it is a buying agreement. It has put a huge measure of disturbance into an already broken system, and because of that, there is continuing discontent, unhappiness and anger. There is a huge disconnect between what MSI/Medicap gives and what they take” Gaye Moseman |
“The reason I joined the legal effort is because it’s just unfair that new franchisees are being offered the $499 deal. We have no advantages for paying a hugely inflated rate. If you sign the new contract, you’re giving up all rights to anything else.” Debbie Walton
“What Cardinal is trying to do is just WRONG! Their idea is to get us to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy into a deal that would cost the guy down the street nothing. In addition, they want us to commit to purchasing virtually all our inventory from them for up to a decade or more with no commitment from them that they will be competitive on either price or service-and the guy down the street that gets the service for free can terminate the contract with only 90 days notice. I already own my store. I can't see paying them a sum of money that would be roughly what my store would sell for (if I were able to sell it), in other words, buying my store from them in exchange for NOTHING.” Steve Burney |
